About my trip to visit places that are still steeped in culture and tradition, historical places and Buddhist places of worship.

Monument de Thao Suranari

The first place we visited yesterday was Monument de Thao Suranari which located on Ratchadamnoen Road Mueang, Nakhon Ratchasima. The monument is in the city center. Both tourists and Nakhon Ratchasima citizens passing by, they all always come and pay respects. The ashes of Thao Suranari are inside the memorial to honor her virtues and bravery. When the Vientiane army attacked to capture the people captive, Thao Suranaree joined forces to fight Vientiane soldiers at the Field "Thung Samrit," Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Thus, the Thais were able to save the city of Nakhon Ratchasima.
Wat Sala Loi

Then we continued our journey to Wat Sala Loi which located in Rop Mueang Road. Thao Suranari and her husband built the temple in 1827. It is a Buddhist temple, shaped like a sampan, very Thai architectural style, clean and tidy, beautifully decorated. There are waterfalls, gardens and other attractions in the scenic area. The highlight is the convocation hall that was awarded the prize as the best avant-garde religious building from the Siam Architects Society in 1973. Located in the northeast of the city, Wat Sala Loi is built by the Khorat heroine Thao Suranari and her husband in 1827. Awarded by the Siam Architects Society for the best avant-garde religious building in 1973, Wat Sala Loi's highlight is the meeting hall which is applied Thai style in the shape of a boat riding the waves. Decorated with locan Dan Kwian clay tiles to tell the life of Buddha on the wall, the door is also made of metal. Inside the hall there is a large statue of Buddha.

There is also a waterfall there, right next to the building. Before we reached the waterfall, we passed a large painting which contained history in the painting. In the painting there are several beautiful angels who are soaking in the waterfall. Some of them were holding flowers and chatting happily.

There is a pair of twin waterfalls which are very beautiful and still natural, we really enjoyed the atmosphere like in a wild forest.
Khorat Fossil Museum

Khorat Fossil Museum is located at Baan Kroke Duen Ha, Suranaree Sub-district, Muang Nakhonratchasima District, Nakhonratchasima. This is the first museum of its kind in Thailand and Southeast Asia which has the most diverse and perfect showcase of fossils presenting with multimedia technology. Khorat Fossil Museum-contains fossils which are 800,000-330 million years old and diamond fossils. Ancient Elephant Museum-exhibits fossils of ancient elephants in variety breeds. Dinosaur Museum-exhibits dinosaur body organs for both omnivore and carnivore dinosaurs. History of these three museums

Skeleton of elephant named Giraffe : the skeleton of a male modern Asian elephant named Giraffe is displayed. The complete skeleton reaches a height of more than 3 meters. It might be the tallest modern elephant in Thailand.

Dinosaur Museum was initiated due to the exploration of dinosaur fossils in the area of Khoak Kruad district and Suranaree district. Dinosaur fossils were scattered all over the nearby area in the length of 80,000 acres.
We were very happy and enjoyed our trip there, especially as we were accompanied by friendly student buddies and attentive lecturers, they explained one by one the objects there.

This is our smile, very sweet, isn't it ? ☺
